The musicians of ensemble clarinetissimo, Stefan Neubauer, Thomas Obermüller and Michael Domanig – once fellow students at the Vienna Musikhochschule – played or still play in various Austrian orchestras (Vienna State Opera, RSO Vienna, Camerata Salzburg) and in various chamber ensembles. As a clarinet trio, the three gentlemen present their instrument and the other members of its family (bass clarinet, basset horn, soprano clarinet) in various styles and combinations of sounds, mainly with original compositions from the Baroque to the Contemporary. While focusing on the Viennese sound tradition, working with singers and pianists naturally broadens the repertoire of the ensemble. Prizes in national and international competitions, numerous premiere performances, recordings and concerts are documents of the work of ensemble clarinettissimo.
